Seabuckthorn Glow Serum

This simple formula stars a few nutrient rich plant oils with hydrating and anti-inflammatory benefit for skin. With its velvety skin feel, it’s become a staple in my  skincare routine. It’s super easy to formulate like other plant oil serums. We’re mixing together few plant oils and don’t forget to add vitamin E (tocopherol) to prevent oxidation. For all oil based serum, preservatives is not required.

The base oil for our serum is sunflower seed oil. Sunflower seed oil is non comedogenic carrier oil that suitable for blemish prone skin. It is non irritating and quickly absorbed into skin. It is also rich in linoleic acid, fatty acid that similar to skin’s natural sebum. The second ingredients in this serum is jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is another plant oil that has anti inflammatory properties and moisturising benefits. It is also non comedogenic and soothing drying skin.

I also use camellia oil aka tea seed oil. It has an exceptional moisturising and nourishing benefit. This oil is high in antioxidant that helps to soothe and calm inflamed and irritated skin.

The next step is adding seabuckthorn fruit extract oil. It has orange color and can dye skin. I purchased this from Australian Wholesale Oil. The version that I use is produced by extraction with natural carbon dioxide, and stabilized with Organic Rosemary Antioxidant. It contains no solvent residues, no inorganic salts, no heavy metals, and no reproducible microorganisms. This oil Commonly used in pharmaceuticals for the treatment of damaged skin, and due to the oils high concentration of vitamins, it is excellent for reducing and helping with burns, scars, cuts and scrapes. It also contains anti-inflammatory agents which may help to heal eczema, dermatitis, acne, and other mild skin conditions.

You can skip this part but I do love Eucalyptus Blue Gum Oil also known with botanical name of Eucalyptus Globulus. This oil is less sensitising and has benefit to treat and calm acne because of its antiseptic benefit. Please note that I always dilute my essential oil and use within 0.5% or as recommended by supplier.

I always make sure my oil serum is easily absorbed into skin. Believe me, this oil serum does not leave your skin looks oily at all. I use this after my moisturiser. To be honest, this oil save my skin from hormonal acne.
